Fire Door Maintenance

Under the Regulatory (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it is a requirement that the Fire Doors are maintained and regularly inspected and a schedule of Fire Doors within the premises maintained.

JCS Firesafe specialize in the repair, restoration and maintenance of Fire Doors. All our passive fire engineers are fully qualified to carry out Fire Door Inspections and repairs that will not compromise the integrity of the door.

Every day use of Fire Doors can result in slight alterations to the door and its surroundings, and this can affect the performance of the door in the event of a fire.

Periodic checks should be carried out at least once every six months. Fire Doors where traffic is high are likely to be more susceptible to damage and should be checked more frequently than other doors in the building. E.g. once per week or once per month.

Newly occupied buildings may require more frequent Fire Door Inspections in the first year of use.
